Alex Amouyel (she/her)

Alex Amouyel is the incoming President and CEO of Newman’s Own Foundation. She will lead the Foundation’s efforts to continue its commitment to use 100% of profits from the sale of Newman’s Own food and beverage products to nourish and transform the lives of children who face adversity.

Alex is the outgoing Founding Executive Director of Solve, an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. MIT Solve is a community of cross-sector leaders devoted to driving innovation to solve world challenges. Under her leadership, Solve has grown to support 268 Solver teams and Indigenous Communities Fellows, catalyze over $60 million in commitments to these entrepreneurs, and broker over 600 transformational partnerships. Alex was pivotal in navigating the organization’s response to the global pandemic, including the timely launch of a Health Security & Pandemics Challenge. She also supported the organization’s broadened scope of work on racial equity in the United States, including the Indigenous Communities Fellowship and the Black & Brown Innovators Program. Alex has long been an advocate of youth innovators and in 2021 oversaw the launch of the Solv[ED] program, which focuses on uplifting and empowering youth aged 24 and under to interest them in social impact work.

Previously, Alex was the Director of Program for the Clinton Global Initiative. She has also worked for Save the Children International in London and across Asia, the Middle East, and Haiti. She began her career as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group.

Alex is a frequent speaker, moderator, and judge at numerous conferences and events on trust-based philanthropy, impact investing, and proximate social entrepreneurship, including the 2022 Webby Awards, 2021 Anthem Awards, 2019 U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and Nexus Global.

Alex holds a double master’s degree in International Affairs from Sciences Po, Paris, and the London School of Economics, and a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Natural Sciences from Trinity College, Cambridge, UK. Throughout her studies, Alex was a teacher, camp director, and then Chair for Oxbridge Cultural Exchange Programme, a student-run charity that sent 100+ students every year to teach English in summer camps in East Asia.
